The objective was to create an interactive environment with the premise of a 21st century ‘village fete’. Looking into what makes a fete and how this can be recreated with new interactions. The traditional village fete was analysed to see what underlying principles to find out of what one consisted. What did people remember from them? Why… Read more →
The aim was to create a stamp that promotes renewable energies. While traditionally a graphic design brief I tried to make the process of informing people more tangible. The stamps use thermochromic ink which, when heated, turns transparent. Two different colours are layered to create a nice effect. Body heat is enough to activate the… Read more →
During my final project ‘Webit’ at Ravensbourne I learned the difficulty and value of adequately presenting ideas in a way that is easy to understand for the masses. The initial presentation idea was to have a super-real representation in a real-world scenario and show how Webit would be used. Sounds perfect until I tried to… Read more →
Today is the final day of preparation for the New Designers exhibition tomorrow. This includes finishing the website http://raveinteraction.com and picking up the trump cards. Today people were asked specifically to ‘pick holes’ in the concept as it is easier for people to see what is wrong rather than suggest what might be right. There were no major issues raised or functionality that had been omitted but there were a few perspectives that had not been considered.
After some deep brow rubbing and a headache, the realisation is that the funtional aspect of the toolbar will not be able to be demonstrated so time has been spent making an animation that was as natural as possible. Based on mouse clicks starting animations when others have completed but also inclusing text input and… Read more →
Today there was an insight into years gone by and what would be expected and required for the summative assessment on June 17th. The main thing that came out of it was focus on conveying the idea when you’re not there to explain it. To this effect there were several videos and interactive walkthroughs. This… Read more →
